When will I get passport request?

Hi,

I applied for PR on Sep 26th after getting ITA. My account status says background check is in progress, and medicals passed. When will I get passport request? Will it be after the background check is completed? Or will I get it before that?

One of my friends said she got passport request by email which went to spam, and that there was no status change indication on the website.
