I became PR early November. When can I expect it? They said 8-10 weeks. When I looked online back then it said like 40 days. Last time I looked now recently it said 100.

Hopefully soon. You are almost there lol.

Do you get your sin number and PR card at the same time or separate. I mean do you have to wait to get your PR card to start working?

New card processing time is posted at 42 days so if I were you I would call CIC.

No, once you land in Canada they will send your PR card to your Canadian address you provided. You do not need your PR card to start working just as long as you have a SIN number that you can get by going to Service Canada. You will get a SIN number immediately, there is no waiting.

Thank you. I just wasn't sure.

I can see that now, but when I checked a couple of weeks ago I am almost positive it said 90 something days. Can anyone confirm this?

Just call in the morning, they can tell you if your card has been processed. Yes it did have a very long processing time on the card (I think like 105 days?) at one point. It said something like 60 days when my spouse landed in July, but it still took 3 months before they started processing his card.

Someone on the other thread is saying the 42 days is the mailing time, not the actual time to process the card. That makes more sense as I can't see how they would get the card time down to such a low number.

They requested me to re-submit the photos as it's not complied with the current requirement. I am crying as after waited 100 days I got this message. Don't know when I can receive the PR card....

We landed October 8, back then it said like 40 days, the highest I saw it get was like... 80ish. Now it's down to 40 something.

We still don't have our PR card. That means we've waited over 130 days. So, even if we lived in Collison Head YT, and it takes 6 weeks to mail to us, we've still been waiting too long given the 47 day figure.

We called in last week and the imbecile we spoke with said "we should get it soon, just wait till March".
The phone agents are largely useless, they just tell everyone "you should get it soon, just wait a month", so I'd recommend calling back till they give you an acceptable answer.
Unfortunately it was my wife who called in (since she's the PR) and she wasn't tenacious enough to get a reasonable answer.

It's not rocket science to print these things...

Never believe the website. It's always always always wrong.

Oh, if calling the center is annoying for you, just choose French as your language. Dial in and just keep pounding 1 till you hear the music.
Everyone can speak English, even the French call support, and only about a quarter of Canada actually speaks French (and even fewer immigrants speak French) so their phone lines are essentially always open.
It's basically the only way to get through.

Good luck. If I ever get ours I'll let you know.

UG! I know the feeling. 3 months after my spouse landed, he got a letter saying they needed a copy of the landing stamp on his passport. The letter almost gave me a heart attack as I knew something had to be wrong since it was from CIC but I could feel no card inside. He faxed that away, then ANOTHER month later he got a nearly identical letter asking for the same thing. This time we faxed it 2x and snail mailed it. He finally got his card a few weeks later.

You're not mistaken. At one point - a couple of weeks ago - processing time went up to 105 days.

But I wonder if there is any point in calling since it does appear that many folks wait more than 3 months?
