When to send IELTS score?

Hello,

I need some clarification about sending IELTS score for PR processing. The Instruction Guide says the test score must not be sent to the CIO in Nova Scotia, and must be sent to the responsible Visa Office only. But the Document checklist form IMM5612E says one of the forms to be submitted to the CIO is the Schedule 3 - Economic classes form imm0008_3e. This form includes question 6 --> Have you taken an approved test to assess your proficiency in English or French? If yes, provide a copy of approved test results. If no, provide evidence of your proficiency in Canada's official languages.

Is this a new requirement? Can someone clarify this point please?

I have seen from various discussions that it is not necessary to send a copy of the IELTS score with the initial application. I know the pros and cons of taking the exam beforehand. I just want to know what others who have recently applied have done, as far as sending a copy of the score.

There was a notification as to all applications after April 10th need to send IETLS result with first set of application itself.There are mixed reactions.

Read the checklist for applications to CIO Nova Scotia. Can you point out anywhere in them that requires the IELTS results to be sent to Nova Scotia.

Notification does not say you need to send IELTS report to application to CIO.
You need to send IELTS result to CHC
Notification says that you get one chance to prove your English proficiency, if you choose not to provide IELTS results to CHC and submit a written proof, the IO can decide how many points you get and will not give you second chance to submit IELTS result

Page 37 clearly says it wont give a second chance to prove the language proficiency which infers that you have to submit credible evidence regarding the language proficiency.

In my opinion, it means that for any application submitted to CIO after April 10, 2010, CHC will not give second chance to prove the language proficiency. If you choose not to provide IELTS results to CHC and submit a written proof, the IO will decide how many points you get based on your wriiten proof and his assesment is final.

The point here is CIO does not validate English proficiency and if you check the checklist it does not asks you to submit the IELTS results

Exaclty,and chances are that VO may not like your english .
So if you have IELTS,you know for sure that you get enough points and not be rejected based on few points.
IELTS is the bench mark or else it would be in the mercy of Vo whether you get 16 points or 8 points.

No, you haven't taken it. If you look at the checklist for Sydney, IELTS is not listed to be included.
