When to expect acknowledgement from CIU Sydney?

Hi,

My courier tracking number says that my application was received March 20,2009. Until now, I have not received any letter from Sydney that my application was received.

When should i be expecting it to come?

Also, is the acknowlegement letter has some sort of Ref# where I could check online the status of my application?

Where is your mailing address?
for me they received it on February 9, 2009 and letter dated on February 19, 2009 and i received it on February 27, 2009.
I live in USA.

Do they send it through regular mail or courier?

Remember that the Sydney letter is NOT only an acknowledgement letter. They need to check your application against the ministerial instructions and then reply. Be patient.

my app was received on feb12 and i received aor on march 3. sydney is really a remote place, the fastest fedex service from d.c. was 3 days. regular mail from sydney to dc took 8 days. so if you are outside north america, i can see this process taking more than a month...

I am lucky to get a letter from Sydney within 25 days, and I am outside America and Europe. Now preparing to send the full set to local visa office.
