When to do the medical

Hi team

I have been approved as a sponsor, but we haven't sent off the medical for my partner yet.
On the website it says that they will write you when you should send your medical, but other friends who have been through the process said we can send it anytime with the UCI and file number on it.

Any clarity for us? We applied in August 2015, and we didn't send it at the same time because of the processing times and didn't want to have to pay for it and get it done twice.

You can do it whenever. We did the upfront medical, so no UCI had been assigned yet. The medical is still transmitted to the CIC, and can be referenced by passport number. You might want to ask the examiner's office before you start just to make sure, though.

We did ours almost a month ahead of the submission.

You can give support letter to the DMO, from the Sponsor along with UCI. It will be linked automatically

The medical examiner we saw gave us a copy of the report. We just submitted that when we filed.
