I'd like to hear some wise thoughts about when it's best to apply for a TRV. My wife's PR app is currently at her embassy, but it's not in process yet(we may never know the actual time where it IS in process - ANNOYING!) We're going to file an app for TRV, but want to know when the wisest time is. The sooner we can file it, the sooner we have a shot to be together at least to wait for some time in Canada. Our papers arrived Mar.11th. They will be fully aware that our PR is an item to consider, I will explain about our PR process in the invitation letter so they understand what's on the line for us. Any wise words and thoughts? thx.

Unfortunately, I think it'll be almost impossible for your wife to get a TRV, because applicants need to prove they have strong ties to their home country and will return to their country after the TRV expires. Seeing as how you guys are already married, her strongest tie would be you, and they will likely deny her a TRV.

But it never hurts to try, and there really isn't an idea time to apply, just apply whenever you feel.

Hello!

I tried TRV and got rejected (the only reason stated by the officer "please await the processing of your PR application")

I provided proof for ties to my country and money and I also showed them copies of the files in the PR application (what I still had at home) and some recent proof of our relationship (plane tickets, vacations together, things that we did together after we submitted the application). I figured they won't bother checking the PR application especially if they didn't start processing it at the time I asked for TRV and that they won't take my word that the relationship was genuine.

Give it a shot, but if they don't want to, they won't... no matter what you show them
