Why are you looking up random websites when I've already provided the link to the official IRCC website stating that they are accepted?
Because I am reading into things a little bit myself?

Uh...are you aware that the website that you found this on deals with those that are criminally inadmissible to Canada? ;)

For those that are inadmissible, I suspect the Channeler letter would not be accepted, but if you have no criminal history (or other reasons to be deemed inadmissible), you'll eligible.
I have a dismissed DUI on my record. It was dismissed through a deferred adjudication program. Would this show up on a FBI check done by a channeler?

Yes, since it will be exactly the same as if it had been ordered directly from The FBI.

You might want to have one run to to see what's on it. Either way, you'll have to disclose this on your PR application, explaining that it was dismissed.

One of the questions asks if you have ever been detained and since you were charged with the DUI (initially), you were undoubtedly detained.

Yes, I know this! I have a legal opinion letter from a Canadian immigration lawyer explaining why I'm admissible to Canada and a letter from the state court saying it was dismissed :). The same lawyer will be assisting with my application. I have also been to Canada dozens of times since the dismissal! Thank you for the input , I appreciate it big time!

If you are no longer in the U.S., it will be valid indefinitely. The 6 month rule applies only if a person is still in the country from which the PCC is requested. For those that are no longer there, the PCC must simply be ordered after the last time the person lived there.

I am still a full time resident in the USA. I only travel to Canada at the moment. So 6 months it is!

Thank you for the response!

This is one of those on again-off again parts of the process, where CIC waffles...or so it seems.

Yes, CIC is [currently] accepting the FBI IHSR letters from approved Channelers. These companies have access to the same FBI database and have been authorized by The FBI to run reports. These companies will only mail the letter to a U.S. address (family or friend, if you're out of the country).

They charge more (~$50 USD, if I recall), but you can have the results in a week or so, plus mailing time. You can also get it sent via pdf (email), but CIC will need the original letter that is mailed to you.

I strongly suggest sending the Channeler two FBI FD-258 fingerprint cards, just in case there is an issue with one, or more, of the prints on the first card. Make sure to tell them that you are sending the second card `just in case' they need it; you do NOT want two separate searches performed.

Good luck!
URGENT !!! HELP PLEASE!!!!

I recently received ITA (CEC with CRS of 1030) . I approached a finger print scan office and paid CAD 250 for getting the FBI clearance in 10 days. It was a official letter issued by FBI . I read in so many forums where people say FBI clearance thru channelers are not accepted unless you are a American citizen or green card holder. Here is the below statement from the CIC page.

Please note that FBI-approved channeler service is only available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

. It does not say that it will not be accepted and i have not heard from anyone that the application got rejected because of this. I called the finger scan office and checked and he replied that they have been processing 1000s of finger print applications for FBI and never heard any issue with this from anyone. Also he says that if there is a problem we would not be doing this as it will become legal issue in Canada. Please suggest what do to. I have all documents ready and i just need to submit

If the CIC website states that it's not available for foreign nationals that are neither U.S. citizens or permanent residents, it means that even if you find a Channeler that does this, it will probably NOT be accepted by CIC for this immigration stream. Channelers may very well be issuing FBI reports for other reasons.

Since you have it, I guess there's no harm in trying.

Good luck!

Thank you for the inputs. I have decided to send the finger prints on my own in parallel. If channelers issued FBI Clarence is not accepted by CIC then I will send the proofs that I have sent my finger prints to FBI. Hope everything will be fine .. Hoping for the best to happen

I'd be curious to know if this worked and where you did it so quickly. I didn't end up doing it since CIC said only citizens and US PR could do it... it would have saved me a lot of time for sure !
