IELTS expiry date is getting closer because of CIC's delay :(
Seriously, if a delay to that extent is their fault, then they should not take the expiration dates into consideration at all. What do they actually expect? That our English gets worse after spending 2 years in Canada, working in a Canadian company?? Ridiculous!!

I think, the 2 years only count if you, let's say, have done your IELTS years BEFORE you apply for whatever reason. But if you are already in process, they should just accept it as is. E.g. if you got your IELTS in September 2010 and decided to apply in September 2012, then the document would be invalid.

And if in doubt, hell, then they should invite you for an interview to see where your skills are at. ::) At least, this is how I would handle it, with a little more common sense applied.

I guess we have to give our whole life to CIC , as processing time to get the permanent residency :(
Excuse my sarcasm, but repeating the medical check every year you might as well die earlier of cancer due to an x-ray overdose, so this will actually shorten your wait. Really, I must see the jokes in this situation. It's upsetting. ;D

Hi guys

I'm afraid Complaining is useless, only chance is to apply EE, it's more money and paperwork but it worked for me.

I'm a September 2014 CEC applicant, getting AOR on February 2015, waiting and waiting....
So I applied through EE-CEC on October 2015, getting passport request on January 2016.

I was afraid about have two applications or even old CEC starts to request medicals, but finally worked fine for me.

Cheers

Gregor.Samsa, we are glad for you!
But it does not work in all cases, international students can be young, without enough work experience & unmarried. So, they might score below 350-400 that they can ever get invitation (Here, I am not talking about me because I have enough work experience but never looked for EE option). The fact is, we applied the way they wanted us to apply. It is not our fault that they introduced new system & our life is now hell. We counted our lives on their system & now its been 16 months passed in hell. First we worked for one year-- worked more than one year-- finally day came & we took IELTS-- we submitted file-- got AOR in 4 months-- now what, we are victims of the system & you`re advising to apply to EE. I understand it might be easy but only for those who are eligible to apply in new system & having aprroved LMIA.

Brother, this is not only about you & me but its about lots of applicants who are in trouble now & plan less. I would rather wait for Justice & I will get PR through my existing old CEC file!!

I completely agree, to be honest I don't know much about ee, but I feel I paid my good money and spent time getting all my documents together taking exam etc, so why should we have to now go through stress of everything again.
I like many others will continue to wait patiently after all these months,it doesn't even seem worth it to try apply for EE when we are already so close to the end of processing

agreed !

but are we "so close to the end of processing" ? once we get s definite answer for this, it will be a less painful wait :(

I know perfectly how frustrating can be this process when your WP deadline is coming, CEC doesn't move and BOWP rules changes.

We all know there is not a way to request CIC to process our older applicattions faster, so I made my decision to try with EE.

I really hate to fill all the paperwork again, to pay again and the stress again about if I filled out everything OK

But in August 2015 I decided to try with EE because my 4th year as TFW is April 2016 and old CEC process was stuck.

I don't want polemics, but my personal way of life it's avoid complaining and take action, useful action, by myself.

Perhaps contact a MP can help someone but probably not to all of us.

Complaining letters to CIC, government, mass media can help? Not so far.

I think can be a good idea contact CBC, they like a good history about immigration, but focused in how the delay affects families, not complaining too much because I think isn't the right way.

Permanent Resident probably is a privilege not a right, anyways I don't want to complain, probably bother, no one if I have a alternative.

I don't think too much complaining is good for our as immigrants, we should adapt

I just was telling you my experience, thinking perhaps could help.

I used this forum a lot to learn about immigration procedures so I wanted to return a bit, offering some alternative to all of us which are in the same situation.

Good luck everybody!
