WHEN SHOULD WE APPLY FOR ARC ????

Hi there!
I am new to this site but thought it would be a good place to start to possibly have my question answered.
I am a Canadian citizen who is currently in the process of trying to bring my husband back from Mexico. We are
almost done ( 5-6 months left) with our PR application process but we still haven't applied for his ARC. Any
advice on when we should have this done and does anyone know how long the ARC process takes?? Any info
on this topic would be great!

It's done as part of the PR process. It can add 2-3 months to average processing. Unless they contact you, I would assume they are processing it without any issues.

Keep in mind, if the applicant was deported at the Canadian government's expense, s/he will need to repay that expense before receiving the visa.

Hi there im also bringing my husband back fom mexico. we sent everything for our arc dec 13th and we are still waiting with no word from the embassy. When did u apply? You have to wait untill they ask for the ARC but you can start to prepare for it.

Hi,

I would say wait until they ask for the ARC, I did. I paid the fees and sent them a letter on January 15th and I received my passport request stating my visa was ready on March 18th and today Ecas changed to decision made. Meaning my ARC took 2 months to be processed, however I'm going through the Bogota Visa Office and as you know each visa office is different. I hope they ask you for your ARC soon since that's a good sign you are at the end of the process. Best of luck!

We sent in my husbands application on June 12th 2012 and the Embassy in Mexico started processing
his application on January 14th of this year. They have not requested his ARC application as of yet.

Hello everyone.

Here is my timeline:

- We started ___________ application for permanent residence on March, 2013
- We started processing ________________ application on July, 2013
- Medical results have been received.

Now the visa office is requesting me to send the ARC fee. My questions are:

I am a not visa exempt.

1) Am I required to fill and submit a TRV while my VO has only requested the ARC and its fee thru spousal Sponsorship?
2) Since the Spousal Sponsorship application is at the VO, does the TRV application go together with the ARC application?

Basically I want to know if I am required to do a TRV when the VO has not requested it in any correspondence letters.
