Hi,
Is there any knowledged member in this group who can help me understand when an Apostille of a document is needed? I am in Canada now with a WP and my spouse is on a Visitor record. My marriage certificate has a stamp in it which says "This document needs to be authenticated by the ministry of external affairs if it is to be used in any foreign countries".

I now have received an ITA but should I get this marriage certificate Apostilled? If they would have questioned the genuineness of my marriage certificate then they wouldn't have given the visa to my wife in the first place when I got my WP.

There is a difference between issuing a visit visa over a work permit and issuing permanent residence. They are very stringent with PR. If they have accepted that document before and you think they will overlook it then take a risk. It's entirely upto you how you choose to proceed.

I dont want to take a risk but the process is very gruelling and me not being in my home country, I dont want my parents to go through this painful process in the scorching summer. So, wanted to see if it is worth taking a risk?

Thanks for the link. I will definitely look into the possibility of using their services.

Please do update the thread if you end up using their services. I might have to go that route too if my application gets rejected.

I have not used that company so cannot recommend them. Please use your own judgement before parting with any cash.
