when should the DD be encashed.....

I had got the DD from HDFC bank on 6th Feb and gave all the required documents to my consultant who sent all the documents on 18th Feb...so what should be the appropriate time to check for the status of DD encashment....I checked with the bank on 1st March but it was not encashed by that time.....kindly advise....thanks

I am particularly scared because I have read so many posts in this forum about consultants not doing their work properly....all the bad things coming into my mind like consultant misplaced my docs, or package lost in transit, etc, etc.....ooops..I am being very negative in spite of the fact that till now the consultant has done every thing right.......

DD is usually en cashed between 15-30 days as per the reported trend here
I think they wait for the results of a few checks and clearances before sending the DD for encashment , hence DD encashement is seen as a positive move here
