HI All,
I've recently opened an EE profile and would like to know when should I get the Police Clearance Certificate? I'm in the FSW program and my points are good. Should I get one now and leave it until I get an ITA to apply or what? Will they still accept it then? Also, I have been living in Canada for the past 3 years, do I need to get a PCC from Canada?

Please advise me.

I applied for mine after I received my ITA, it's for the Singapore Police certificate, I can't apply for it without a reason.

I guess it would depends on which country's PPC you need.

The above link already says it all.

Our online system will ask for a police certificate for:

  • you and your family members who are 18 years or older
  • and
  • every country you (or a family member) stayed in during the last 10 years for 6 months or more in a row
You don’t need to give us police certificates for any period of time before you were 18 years old or for time spent in Canada.

For any other country (you have lived before but not country of residence)
For any other country, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row. - so you can apply whenever as long as you have not gone back to that country.

Some countries put expiry dates on their police certificates. If you have a police certificate that expired, include it. We’ll accept it if:

  • it was issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row
  • it is not for the country where you currently live
An officer may ask for a new one later on.

Which country PCC are you getting? Since you are not living in that country, you can get it any time. However, if you travel to that country between now and application submission, then you will need to get it again after returning to Canada (and then submit the application)

Most likely you will not need Canada PCC.

Thank you, that’s helpful. Yes, I believe that I won’t need a Canadian PCC.
