When should I apply for a second IEC?

Hello world, I'm a British citizen in Canada under the IEC working holiday stream with an open-work permit (OWP), since Feb 2023, which is set to expire in Feb 2025. I'd like to continue working and living in Canada for longer, so I ask, when is the best time to apply for my second IEC such that I can be in Canada for as long as possible?

Moreover, If I apply for a second IEC/OWP and am invited to apply and approved before my current OWP expiration (Feb 2025), will said second IEC/OWP begin before or after my current OWP?

You can't apply for extension but you can certainly make a new application and get another 1 or 2 years. Start the application in late fall of 2024. Also, you should create an EE profile since you have more than a year of work experience now?
