The son of my wife Is in the permanent residents application. My wife will come over to Canada while her 7 year old son will stay in the Philippines until school is finished. Our plan is to let him come over to Canada on summer and winter breaks. So when it comes to passport request should my wife send in both passports or just hers?

I was sponsored as a dependent (my mom was the principal applicant and my brother was the sponsor). We submitted all of our passports at the same time but my mom and sister (also a dependent) landed months before I did. Don't quote me on this but I think you're supposed to submit all passports together since they'll all be given visas with the same validity (unless maybe they didn't get their medicals done at least the same time) or if you don't intend to sponsor your wife's son just yet. But if it's only going to be a short difference in the dates of their landing, I think everything should be submitted. By "until school is finished" do you mean the academic year or elementary school?

Hi thanks for your answer. Her son did the medical in October last year and my wife redone hers 10 days ago. We want the kid go to school in Philippines because education is cheaper there. And my wife wants to be Independent and work in Vancouver. That's why the idea to leave the son in the Philippines and fly him over just for school breaks until he's done with the academic school. In the application my wife applied for her son as well.
