Hi everyone,

I have 2 questions:

1/ I got a 1-year study permit that will expire in September 2024. My program is a 1-year program and will finish by May 2024. If in May 2024, I apply for the PGWP, will the start date of the PGWP be in September 2024, or from the date I graduate, or from the day I apply?
2/ In Ontario, they say that the 1-year program must require a completed degree only as an admission requirement to be eligible for the OINP international student stream. Does this mean that if my 1-year post-graduate program admission requires a degree, or a 3-year diploma, or equivalent working experience, it is not eligible for the OINP international student stream?

Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

1) It should be 1 year from the date of approval.
2) Correct, then you are not eligible for the OINP international student stream.

Thank you scylla for your quick reply. What do you mean by the date of approval? May the date of approval be sooner than the study permit expiry date?

Date of the PGWP approval. The study permit expiry date is irrelevant.
