He mostly likely won't be able to come to Canada until after you're married AND you sponsor him. Islamabad is one of the longest VO offices, averaging 80% of their applications complete in 26 months.

Once you get to Canada, you can try to sponsor him to visit you, but it most likely be denied. You will most likely have to marry him after you land in Canada. You may want to wait to get your PR card before going to marry him, but if you can't wait, you can apply for travel documents to make coming back to Canada easier.

PS: Make sure to apply for your PR card before you go back to Pakistan for the wedding. Have it mailed to a friend or relative's house. (It can only be mailed inside Canada.) Then have that person ship the card to you overseas. Another way to make coming back to Canada easy.

Hi Faiza,

This is what I can gather from your post:

As your Mom is the Primary applicant, you were a dependent and thus your age is either 22 or below (or maybe more depending on what was your age at the time of application and how long the application took to process)

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/minors-mineurs.aspx?view=d

As you have been advised, you can sponsor your spouse, however, one of the main criteria is :

You and the sponsored relative must sign a sponsorship agreement that commits you to provide financial support for your relative, if necessary. This agreement also says the person becoming a permanent resident will make every effort to support her or himself.

You must provide financial support for a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner for three years from the date they become a permanent resident.

You must provide financial support for a dependent child for 10 years, or until the child turns 25, whichever comes first.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-who.asp

You may have to provide documents that would prove that you are FINANCIALLY ESTABLISHED.

Also, you have to remain in the marriage for a period of 2 yrs or the PRs will be revoked.

Good Luck.
