Hello,

I recently stayed with with my girlfriend in Montreal for 10 weeks from the 8th of October till the 17th of December. I am flying back out to see her on the 28th of January but I want to know as I have already stayed 10 weeks (2 and a 1/2 months), does that leave me with only 3 and half months until I have to have my flight returning home? Ideally I would like to book the flight home on the 28th of May, which is 4 months, but would this be a problem? I keep seeing that when you leave it resets and others saying that it is 6 months in year which you can stay. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I hope it has made sense!

Just some info: From the UK, passport is UK
Have the funds to support myself for the time there
I will be showing them a return flight as well, also my girlfriends information.

Thanks

It resets when you leave Canada. There is no 6 months/year rule. Note that while 6 months is the standard, it is not guaranteed; CBSA actually determines the length of stay on entry.

Do you have multiple visa
OP is from the UK and doesn't require a TRV.

So you think staying for 4 months would be okay? I would rather book the trip with slightly less if it meant more of a chance of having an easy entry. Thanks for the reply as well

Yes, staying for 4 months should be fine.
