Hello,
Actually I am desperately looking for a slot this month for my biometrics.
My friend wants to help me as he has an appointment booked in the first week in October.
So we are planning that once he cancels form his end then I will book it simultaneously, so will this trick work?

My cousin tried the same thing a week back but he told me that once his frnd cancelled it and then my cousin logged in but could not see the same slot being empty or available to him.

So has anyone tried this thing? Or what’s the time during the day the slots get refreshed and updated?

Ohh man, I dont think it will work, it might but highly doubtful. So now there are no slots in entire India and for how long?

For some reason one or two slots usually open between 12 midnight and 2AM. If you're from India only bother checking Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata - the rest almost never have slots available. That's how someone I know got a slot in Kolkata for this Monday.

The other option for you is travel to Nepal by road - there's no quarantine if you cross the border by road. You might be asked for a RT PCR report at the border. I know people who've done this as well. Basically you take a flight to Gorakhpur and then travel by taxi or bus to the Nepal border. Then cross the border on foot and take a taxi/bus to Kathmandu afterwards. It's about a day's journey.

Nepal always has slots open.

If you're interested in the Nepal route then check this guy's video - he did it recently (the video is in Punjabi):

Bloody hell, what a mess. I am sure there is a conspiracy for slots not being there in India. I have lost trust in VFS. What all circus we have to do just to get a biometric collection done. Thanks for sharing this, someone might get some help. I saw a youtube video where one flew to Nepal and got it done it seems. There were again Indians there to get biometric :) I think the channel name was 'pathways to Canada'

Yes bro..
I hope you knew the reality what I shared.
Ppl charging Rs 20,000 specially the immigration forms and consultants.

I also heard that VFS are not releasing any slots and due to this third parties are misusing and charging hefty amounts from the needful as they have reserved and block the slots.

What a mess man. Simple solution, ask the study permit application number or BIL number, anything to make sure only one slot is given for a person while booking appointments. Its a simple solution. I am sure they are not implementing it purposely.

I guess you remember how as trying hard to locate and negotiate the agents for biometrics slots. Though I was talking to two of them but result was not positive as days were getting passed.

Just few days before the time of applying for the visa my consultant explained me the scenario of biometric slots and hefty charges. So 1-2 days I tried to see the slots and understand about biometric appointment how it is done, requirements, booking, places etc. Guess what on 14th Sep I got a slot in Ahmedabad for 28th Sep. I don't from where and how I could see that. Although 95% I was sure that I would not go there even after booking it on that day. But today being 29th Sep, I went to Ahmedabad on 27th and completed my biometrics on 28th and came back home to my local city.
My agents were pretty sure since 12th 0r 13th Sept but after trying both of them only days and weeks passed so thanks God for this booked appointment.

True, count your stars man. This is one crazy business we are into. Very sad that we have to wait this long for biometric. I dont know how we dont have slots. Its a setup to make us pay more. Anyway, you got lucky and decided to keep the slot. Agents are just taking their cut, they dont know anything.
