Hi all,

I recently sent my package to the Mississauga office which was delivered on June 2nd before the Canada Post strike. So far I have yet to receive anything from them regarding my client ID. I was under the impression that I'd get an ID so I can track the status. Do they provide this via email or post?

Thanks.

You will not receive a client ID until you are approved as a sponsor. You will receive an email if you indicated one on the app and this will give you all the information you will need to be able to track the app from that point on.

They're currently working on applications received upto May 5, and it's taking them approximately 42 days to process these: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp. So, you have awhile before you'll hear anything.

Thanks for the info! We'll keep waiting then. :)

Hi,

I wish to travel during my visa processing, so may I request CHC Mississauga and Sydney to correspond with me via email rather then through post?

Also is there any email id that we can use to send any scanned supporting documents later during the processing?

Thx n rgds

Yes, if you indicate an email on your application they will correspond with you via email.

I have only had to send 1 request to them and they asked that I fax it to them. I believe this is how they request most additional information unless they wanted an original of something.

This is not necessarily true....I checked to receive information via email....I got the sponsorship approval through normal mail...some VO's will only communicate through snail mail....its completely up to the Visa Officer or Office how they handle each file...

Hi Tawcan, you should join us on the June 2011 thread http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/june-2011-t74210.30.html. It should give you an idea of processing timescales... My application also arrived on June 2nd...

I didn't get my client ID til after PPR :P I used my payment receipt number (IMM5401 receipt number) to log into ECAS using my sponsor's information to find out any updates.

or you can use the client id once your sponsor gets approved (we got ours through email) . i used that.
