So I applied for my PGWP after my student permit expired 5 days ago and applied to restore my status as a student. However I have seen some say you cannot work while waiting for it to be approved and that is an issue as I hear it takes 4 months or more. I cannot do anything for 4 months and all and need work and might lose chance as I am applying. I tried calling IRCC regarding getting a time to restore my status and all but no luck. I heard some say to call an MP or something and was wondering what can they do to help?

MPs aren't immigration experts and they also cannot expedite applications. The right time to call an MP is if your application was submitted a long time ago and is taking significantly longer than the posted processing time to be approved. This isn't your situation and unfortunately I don't see how contacting your MP will help you. Having said that, you are of course free to try.

IRCC isn’t going to restore your status. MPs cant really influence decision making or expedite your process. You can try but you aren’t a citizen or PR. The MP is not “helping“ a constitpuent.
