When do you apply for CSQ (Certificat de Sélection du Québec)?

Hello,

When in the process is one supposed to be applying for his Certificat de Sélection du Québec (CSQ)?

We're trying to complete our application for out-land spouse sponsorship immigration from the US, and this is what we're understanding:
STEP 1) Gather all the documents in the checklist IMM 5491E and submit them to CIC
STEP 2) Once you get the letter from CIC, you apply for Certificat de Sélection du Québec (CSQ) and Undertaking Application with MICC

But question 7 of IMM 5669 (which is part of the first step) asks if you have received your CSQ and what's the number..
So we're confused and not sure we're understanding the process right..
If someone could shed some light on this for us, we'd be most grateful!

i was confused about that as well, but i think it's in case you have one. i went on the quebec immigration website and re- read everything and it seems that you only apply for the CSQ after CIC has approved you and you're about to undertake the process with Quebec.

Yes, you ONLY apply for CSQ after you have been approved from CPC-M. They will send you a letter or email, you take a copy of that and send it together with the forms for the CSQ.
Write N/A on the question 7. It was a bit confusing for me also, I applied through Quebec too.

You will find when the IMM0008 form is validated for the barcodes, the part that asks for the date you applied for your CSQ gets greyed out.

In my Document Checklist its says QUEBEC SELECTION CERTIFICATE
If you intend to live in the province of Québec, you must submit the original Québec Selection Certificate. For information on how to apply for the certificate, What should I do? Send later my PR application after I get my CSQ?

My VO Office resquested me my CSQ and they told me that I need to send them a copy of it....No scan through email. Can I send a photocopy of my CSQ or an original copy??

where is your VO? Because they asked for COPY right? So I guess Photocopy is ok unless they asked for original.

Yes, they said exactly like this : Please send us a copy of XXXX's CSQ in the mail. No scan/email...

You only received one copy of the CSQ? I ask because we received the approved undertaking and two copies of the CSQ, one which specifically said it was for CIC. (We didn't have to send it, as MICC is *supposed* to send one to CIC, which they did in our case, but I still have the two copies.)

I didn't receive it yet ! That's probably why they are requesting a copy of it...

I know there is 2 copies, so that's why it keeps me confusing...If they want me to send the copy where it says CIC or a photocopy is good....Because I am from Québec obviously and this means I will need to send this to Colombia = $$$$$ ???
