When CIC opens envelop after receive ? Long delay - No news!!

I applied with my son almost 11 weeks since CIC signed and received our application and as of now no eCAS or application return. I called CIC call center and they find nothing in their system. Agent said CIC may have returned the application but to check with them next week.. I wonder when CIC opens applications 1st time? Does it take 11 weeks to check or return ?

I would not worry too much... still a little early. I would wait another 4 -5 weeks before getting in touch with CIC.

I would suggest to review the photocopy of your applications (if you made one) to make sure you have entered correct mailing address of your residence. Review entire set once more to see if you find any discrepancies anywhere. If you dont find anything, as others said, you have no option but to wait..

Checked the applications again and so far found no error in address or inconsistency in any sections.. Will wait till July and see what happens next..

Wait till July ??? do you mean July 2015 cause today is July 22nd already.

No. I mean July,2014. Yes only few days remains in July and will wait till Aug before plan to reapply. I wonder what CIC does with applications when they receive 1st time? How many days they take to check complete and incomplete applications? I read in other topic that after receive they open envelop and put a side complete and incomplete ones. Those are to be returned CIC returns within 3-4 week and those are complete CIC put in separate Que for to open later date to process within 8-10 weeks ?

Anyone is aware of CIC work procedures ? Any member facing such delays? Please share...

It took me almost 3 months before I saw anything on eCAS. So the 11 weeks sounds about right.

Did you sent the application via registered mail, requiring signature on delivery? If so, do you have the signed confirmation?

With CIC, you can never tell the timeline, some get in the system quickly, others dont. From the spreadsheet and posts on the forum, it seems that eCas gets updated (in most cases) within 6 to 8 weeks. If the application is being returned, it's around 2 months. 11 weeks, is almost 3 months and if CIC call centre doesnt have a record, the only other thing I can think off is the signed confirmation to show that the application was received by CIC

Upon ATIP request of physical file's status, received reply today from CIC agent as following:

" Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:"

" We have received your application and it will be processed according to the date it was received. "

Is that possible CIC is working on our file bypassing eCAS? or did noting and upon my ATIP request, now they pulled file from store and CIC will start to work on it?

There was nothing unusual about your timeline. Like I said earlier, I didn't get any eCAS update for almost 3 months. Sounds like standard processing to me
