When can the cutoff drop at around 480?

I started my express entry profile at 390 points. My initial application to the earlier CEC pre-ExpressEntry system in Dec-2014 was returned since the quota was filled in Oct-14 itself. I tried everything to push my score and now I am sitting at 484 with a little hope.

The idea of providing the score for CEC / students was to boost them with the score to get PR. I think raising the cut-off parallel wont help in any way. With that in mind I believe the score will be dropped down at least to their previous low scores of 470 (at least, with no other real reason) ..
I think the raise in cut-off could be temp. because of following 2 reasons.

1. There was no regular draw for 4 weeks, so that kept number of active people in pool high.
2. Many people benefited form 50 points for LMIA exempt Job, however I feel like that number will be really low and only few left if not cleared already in 49th Draw.

So I think future draw will largely benefit students and cut off will be around 480, if CIC doesn't take long break between draws.

You might wanna discuss this with your manager, they might help you with LMIA to score more points/apply for work permit.
I am not sure about LMIA but can they apply for a work permit for me?

not really that too requires LMIA. but there is a dual intent LMIA which will give you work permit extension as well as 50 points in EE profile

Thanks Batman_is_Real and Kryt0n! I can try and find out if they are willing to help with the LMIA. Most of the staff is on vacation starting this Thursday so even if they apply, it will be in January.

I would definitely expect that.
+1 for optimism. I find your posts very logical and you don't create undue expectation on forum. Have a quick question

Do we need to provide separate letter for Offer and Reference Letter if working for the same employer on ICT? Does CIC has any specific format it expects these letters to be in? My NOC is 2174.

Sitting at 481 now and just realized that the last draw was so high. Didn't know when to get selected. Is it necessary for me to start to learn some French as well to gain those 24 points? Need advice. Been a little desperate now.
Most likely you will receive ITA in the next draw

No specific format.

As qualifying criteria, you are required to prove that you have worked with that employer for at least a year AND are currently working for them. A current dated reference letter would suffice to meet that requirement. You are also required to get a letter from the employer that you will be employed for at least 1 year after getting your PR. A current dated letter explicitly stating that would be required, this confirmation may be included in the aforementioned reference letter but IRCC would probably have a separate placeholder for this document.

Well, I doubt my company will write in exacts same words. However, they can write duration of current assignment which is 2 years(same as mentioned in my WP extension letter) on the letter. Will that be ok?

A current dated? Damn, I had to leave Canada in end of August this year so I took a reference letter right then. Are you saying someone like me has to get the reference letter AGAIN by current-dating it (Whenever I get an ITA) ?

If you're not working for that employer anymore then the reference letter that you obtained back in August is fine.

Phew, okay, good, yes not working for them anymore. That was for one year and a couple more weeks. And I took it AFTER the employment ended. Thank you.
