When can I work in Canada?

Hmmmm, hope we aren't doing anything illegal because he volunteers...last thing we need is him getting deported because he delivers meals to grannies and grandads who can't do chores like that any more.

He doesn't get paid and as far as we know it is on a volunteer basis and not a job that CDN citizens or PR's get paid for. It something to keep him busy while we wait for his Inland application to be processed..another 3/4 month wait.

I don't believe volunteering is something where he competes against Canadians, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. Please note my use of the word "think."

Volunteering is ok as long as you're not doing something that a legal worker could be paid to do.

So technically even volunteering could be considered work?

My husband is volunteering at the hospital doing things like meals on wheels and tutoring kids in the high school...before he started he stated to them in no way, shape or form should he be paid and not even receive a gratuity or honorarium...is this still considered work?

No what he is doing is not classified as "work" as those type of activities is true volunteerism, no one doing them gets paid.
