i have gOt VISA for JANUARY 2012 ...
so my question is when can i leave india to canada ...as i have heard dat PORt entry or exit enquires you with couple of questions?
any idea ..like nOVember or in decmber
my classes r gonna strt 1st week of JAN

sofia u can move my one friend left for canada 3 months before his classes were gonna start in sep and he left in april...

hey sofi hi....congrats for your visa..
first of all i want to ask you that where r u from?
if you r form India then i will advise you not to go so early like now October is running if you will go in next 2 3 days they don't allow you to go ahead they may excuse that your classes are going to start form Jan 1st then why are you going too early i know Indian immigration, i advise you to go in December's first week its legal, if they excuse on this matter you could tell them that i am going 1 month early because i will find accommodation and other assets of living there for me... two of my friends also have visa for Jan 12 and they bought ticket of 17th October and they were prevented from going ahead and returned to their home...... so be careful Indian Immigration are just deaf guys they are not ready to listen any thing.... Don't scared from above conversation but be careful you could ask from your consultant or University/College for more information.

If you r from other than India then identify your country and other guys will help you....

hi sofia. If a student goes too early (like going in october or november) than most likely he/ she will face problems at port of entry. Its needless to mention that the immigration officials get curious as to why a student wanna come early .

in my opinion, you should not go before decemberto be on the safe side.

for example, my classes at university are starting on 9th jan 12, but the university has clearly mentioned that they expect me to arrive on 2nd of january. They call a student almost a week earlier so that he/ she might adjust . One can go even 2 weeks earlier. But going too early definitely raises eyebrows.

ya its okay but don't be so early...
in second question sometimes LUCK matters also 2 3 case out of 100 have good luck in this matter.
like last year my cousin come here for January11 classes on 28th January ha ha ha funny and his second intake in May 11 so clear he had a great luck so clear he entered in Canada 3 months early its his luck....ha ha ha and he is soo lucky in PR case he found a citizen girl and today he is married and soon he will have his PR card if we watch his whole case he have PR in just 7 months so if its not a luck then what is it.... so luck matters a lot also here....

sorry for a long story but its true but i want to express my feeling on your second question..hope you understand what i am saying....

many chances are there if we don't have strong proofs when we are entering too early of deporting...but if one have proofs like he/she will join some additional classes before joining his/her course. but if we have sufficient time period all things are easy as drinking water. i think at least one month ago is good.. if they ask something you could excuse them which i told you earlier like accommodation etc.

my frnz are planing i think they will buy tickets of December's first week nd they are planing to catch a flight form Amritsar....
airline policies varies from airline to airline. if you want to cancel your ticket a airline cut some money from total cost according to their policy and return remaining money you may extend your ticket if you are sure that i will go to this date there is a fee for extending date you have to pay and they will extend you ticket date....

but remember airline policies varies from airline to airline...

hey sofia it doesn't matter when u came . there is nothing question at immigration on arrival they will hardly 15 min of urs for immigration . as in my and m frnds all take as same tym they issue you the study permit at a once . no problem will be there . importantle make sure ur documets must in ur hand during immigration . as well as during depature no one in india will ask u question . adn also listen there no luck after issuing the visa u can can anytime there ok. no one will obstecle ur way . ok ...

according to me AIR INDIA is best
depart 9.40pm form amritsar and in 45 minutes arrive in delhi
depart form delhi 1.25am(+1) and arrive toronto 6.55am(+1)(CANADIAN TIME 6.55am)

immgration done only once in amritsar no plane change in delhi just rest in plane in delhi new passengers from delhi will catch this flight....
