I'm from the country where the Canadian visa is not required. I was in Canada last year. I entered in December and left Canada in April.
I could stay 6 months without visa.
I would like to come back again, but I do not know if I can come back after a 1 year from the time when I entered or when I left.
Any ideas?
Thank you for your help!

Count after you left. But I have read posts from members where they left a few weeks and came back to Canada. The port of entry officers probably are not too hard on citizens of countries who can enter Canada without visa and who are not habitually in Canada.

I've heard the Same...

My first entry to Canada I came without a return ticket. All I brought was 2000 Euro's and a credit card. As I was staying with family (my Fiancee) I didn't have many expenses to pay for. They didn't hassle me too much. They asked why I was coming (to visit) and when I am going to leave to which I replied "I know I can stay up to 6 months" to which she replied "that up to me to decide" and then stamped my passport for 6 months, although I left anyway before my 6 months...

I plan on coming back in a month to visit. I hope it goes ok again. It can be quite stressful to travel here...they are quite intimidating. In any case, just be confident. I don't intend to working/living here. Just want to visit. So believe in yourself and don't lie to them.

What is a Visitor Record??? I was never told this when I entered or given one.
If you just had a stamp on your passport, and the date of arrival and nothing else, you were not given a visitor record.

according to the info at CBSA (Canadian Border Service) one is allowed to stay as a visitor no longer than 6 months in total for a year.

And just where do you find this?

I understood that you can visit Canada as often as the POE officers will let you in - I certainly have (I am from the UK).
Obviously you must meet all the entry criteria AND LEAVE when you are supposed to.

if I find a link I'll post it.
as far as I understood from that info - if one stays in Canada during his/her visit in total of longer than 6 months in a year they can consider it already not a temporary stay and can easily refuse the entry. but it doesn't mean that they will definitely refuse, one can always try.
