When can dependents of primary visa holder come along?

Can someone please answer this;

If i have a student visa to go study in Canada, can my dependents who already have their documents completely approved (i.e my wife & two little kids) travel with me on the exact same day that i leave for Canada?

Or do they have to wait for me to go first before joining me on a later date?

If the later is the case, how long will they have to wait before joining me? ???

They can enter Canada during the validity of the visa. If this is the same as yours, then they can be on the same flight with you.

DocRZ- I have a question as well with this regard. I am planning to bring my husband once i get my visa done. So should I apply for his visa along with mine or should I do it separately.

Under normal conditions, how long shall i allow before processing my husband's (student dependent) visa? I was advised it should only be done after i complete my First semester (to prove myself a genuine studnet with genuine intentions)

Is it really needed to wait so long or shall I take him along with me ad apply for his visa alongside mine?
