When are reference emails sent by universities to my professors?

Hello,

So I have filled out all the applications for the universities I will be applying to and I only have to hit the submit button and pay the amount.

My query is, once I hit submit, when will my current professors receive an email to submit reference letters about me?

I ask, so that I can let them know accordingly.

Kind Regards.

It depends. The rule of thumb is that you can only add the professors once you pay the registration fee though. Most of the DLIs have systems that allow you to add the email and send them as well as add the necessary documents. So, pay first, send the emails after.

So it depends, in some cases, it's an automated thing, so the request emails are triggered as soon as you submit the application. I believe most of the DLIs gives you an option to track those too. So you can push your referee every now and then to give your recommendation. xD

Thank you!
I actually wanted to time the reference letters so that my professors will receive them all on one day and they could fill them up all in one go.

So your application will only be processed and reviewed by an academic unit once your references have given your referral. If your DLI doesn't give an option to track references, you may wanna check with your professors if they've submitted your referral and after that confirm with department coordinator (at DLI) that they've received those.

Alright, thank you for letting me know about the process.

So far, my referees have been co-operative so I hope I won't have to contact the department coordinator.
