What's the best way to bring your loved one to Canada?

Hi I am new to the forum and new to immigration process.
I have done some research myself of this but need a little more info.

So here's my story.
I have a Fiancée from Ukraine (i know we have heard this one before), We are planning to get married in spring (white wedding).
I am trying to figure out the best way to bring her to Canada in the shortest time.
She believes that she will not be approved for tourist Visa because she is poor.
I do intend to contact my local MP's office and talk to him about immigration but does anyone have any advice?

I have known my GF for about 1 year. We talk and skype every day. I visit her every 6 months for 2 weeks at a time. I have all the airline tickets to prove my travel. She took a online survey to see if she was eligible for a visa and it said she was. Although i find the Canadian government tends to not give you the full picture... I am sure everyone knows what i am talking about.

So any ideas? I am going back to Ukraine for early March and if i need to start sponsoring her now, i would prefer to start that way the time waiting will be less.

Thanks

You can sponsor her for Permanent Residency after you are married. (You cannot sponsor her now.)

To do this, you need to be not on welfare and not have declared bankruptcy.

She needs to submit police certificates and a medical, proving she does not have communicable diseases and has not committed any crimes.

You two also need to prove the relationship is genuine, so do keep copies of your plane tickets etc., and take lots of pictures together, the two of you of course, but also with as many of each other's friends and families as possible. Wedding photos are important as well.

So collect lots of proof, and get married, and you can apply!

(There's no harm in trying to get her a visitor's visa too, of course. I've heard that she's more likely to get it before she is married.)

As Kayaker said. Just gather your proofs of your relationship and you will do fine.

If you want your fiancée to get TRV, now is the best time to apply for it. My wife was able to get her TRV while as fiancée as she still has more ties to her country than to Canada. Once your fiancée get married, it will be much much harder to get TRV. At that time, being married make her ties a lot stronger to Canada than to Ukraine all because of you. I mean, who really wants to leave their spouse behind in Canada just to obey the visa rules. CIC will likely believe the spouse not want to leave and overstay the visa.

It doesn't matter if she's rich or poor.
I got a visitor visa and I wasn't even working.
As long as she proves CIC officers that she will be back to the Ukraine after her visit it should not be a problem to get a visitor visa.
You can write CIC a letter saying that she will be staying with you and that you will be responsible for her food and stay while she's in Canada. (that's what my spouse did).
Another thing she will have to prove is that she's got some money to stay in Canada even though you're "responsible" for her.
I had about 2000 dollars in my account when I sent my bank statement to CIC.
I got married in Ontario a week after I got here, for the visa I did not mention that this would happen (I didn't lie, but I didn't mention)... It might be best for you, guys as she never had a visa.
Hope I helped.

Sorry to jump in with a question of my own, but is TRV only for citizens of countries who need a visa to enter Canada even as tourists?

Yes.. if the country needs a visa to enter Canada, he will have to apply for a TRV even as tourist.
But if an American, for example, is found ineligible to enter Canada for some reason, he/she might apply for a TRV to try to get it as well.

Visa-exempt people can't apply for TRVs regardless of their situation. If they are inadmissible to Canada, they can apply for a TRP, Temporary Resident Permit.

and on that note, if they are inadmissible, most likely they will need to apply for an ARC, authorization to return to canada before CIC will process the TRP application. when i had an exclusion order and tried, my application was sent back saying i needed to apply for an ARC first.

People applying for TRPs can be inadmissible without ever having been to and removed from Canada and therefore not need an ARC.

The most common TRP situation seen on the forum is for the children of PRs who were born outside of Canada and haven't actually been to Canada yet.

Another less common situation is those who haven't been to Canada but know that they are inadmissible because of their criminal record.

if they are inadmissiable for criminal reasons, how can they apply for a TRP without an ARC? don't they need permission to return before applying?

Well maybe, if they have never tried to enter Canada, then technically they wouldn't be "returning" to Canada?

???

They committed the crime in their own country and have never actually been to Canada. Example: an American has a record of DUI. They have never been to Canada but are inadmissible because of the DUI and so apply for a TRP.

For the woman in the original post, for her to get a TRV before she marries a Canadian, she has to prove she will leave Canada. So being poor doesn't matter so much if she has other proof of ties to her country: a job, with a letter from her boss giving her time off and stating she is expected to return; enrollment in school, with proof there is a holiday; rental or mortgage documents; a bank account or investments; a child or other family members staying behind; etc.
