Hi,

as a country girl my favourite place is BC's southern interior because of the mild climate and the beautiful scenery. I live in the West Kootenays near the Columbia River. We have very mild winters and beautiful long and dry summers. The valleys are a gardeners paradise, one can grow almost anything! Rossland and Nelson have been voted best ski towns in North America. I wish I could afford to buy a very large acerage and have a hobby farm around here or somewhere along the Kootenay Lake :D I find the Okanagan too crowded but very nice to visit especially during harvest time when all the fruit stands are open.

My second favourite place is the Drumheller Valley in Alberta. There's something fascinating about the badlands.

And I do love the area between Thunder Bay and St. Sault-Marie, ON, along the shores of Lake Superior - absolutely stunning.

My favourite city is Vancouver but I wouldn't want to live there.

Cheers, Julie

I would prefer a smaller city with beautiful nature and somewhat diverse population and it should be close to a major city (1 or 1.5 hour drive). But these are hard to find in Ontario. May be Oakville or Burlington (but they are now as expensive as GTA).

Calgary is very high level price in housing, don't come here, nobody hold the housing price :'(

Calgary's not the only place with high housing prices. Vancouver and Toronto have high housing prices as well. Tends to happen with big cities with a concentration of well paying jobs...

Any input about Mississauga, Markham and Brampton. Which one of these is best suited for initial settlement, money wise, job search, survival jobs, schools and Muslim community.
Does anyone know location of any "begumpura (where wives and kids live while husbands work in gulf)" in these areas. Is it advisable to leave your family in such areas initially ! Thanks

I am also looking for some input on various neighbourhoods. By the way "Begumpura" is an Urdu expression (literally, “where women live”) used for Greater Toronto Area’s “colony of wives” — some half-dozen neighbourhoods in Mississauga where hundreds, perhaps thousands, of South Asian women, most of Pakistani origin, live with their kids while their husbands work in the Middle East. Just google it and you will find some directions to it :)

Hey friends,I like Vancouver .This is the large city in Canada. So I prefer to live this city.

hello ı would lıke to hear opınıons about Alberta...how easıly can we fınd job there?ı am canadıan my husband turkısh(yet he doesnt speak a lot of englısh). Is ıt easy to fınd a survıval job for start?
what about the salarıes and the cost of lıfe?

I love Toronto. Because i think this place is also good for living. I did know about Toronto area information from Navut.com Website. Very good knowledge i have earned. Thanks.

I like Vancouver .
I like it too. However, Victoria is nicer. But both have a terrible weather. Always dripping. All year around. :)

I agree with Julie1. BC Southern Interior is the best place to live so far.
I like Calgary but summer there is too cold for my taste and also weather is just unpredictable all year around. In one day in summer there could be- sunshine and heat, rain, gusting wind , cloudy, and then it starts all over again. :o

What about Montreal like Weather, Job Market, living cost & education ?

I know about Montreal. It was my great experience. I have worked in Montreal and do a business. I think Montreal is also a great for job market. Living cost and education facility is also good. You can choose Montreal for living. I will recommended it. You can see more about Montreal from here navut.com/montreal
It's one of the largest bilingual cities in the world, with most residents speaking both French and English. From cobblestone streets, to historic architecture and stylish restaurants, Montreal is heavily influenced by European culture.

talking about Mississauga, i have noticed that if one can afford to bring his budget upto 1200, can find few low / high rise buildings in very good neighbourhoods where all the amenities alongwith some best ranking schools are on just walkable distance.

Paisley boulevard west has the best schools but unfortunately I didn't get a satisfactory feed back on that area. Bough beeches hosts the best schools. Lakeshore and Port Credit area bit expensive but has the best ranking schools. Erin mills parkway is quite good too. Webb drive is a good place to live but schools linked to this area are just ok.
