Hi there,

According to Canada Post tracking, CIC received my application on Feb 24, and according to CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp , they will be processing my application next week for step 1. So do I have to wait for 29 days from the day they start viewing my application to get a response from them? And how will they contact me to notify me if my application is complete or not? ( mailing or email, phone ?), And because my main application is valid for 3 months only, so if they require me to send some additional documents, and if I can not get them in the time frame of 3 months of the main application, will my main application expire? and will I have to do everything all over again? Thanks for answering.

We are in the same boat, I sent my application February 7, 2014. They received it in Feb. 11, 2014 through Canada Post express delivery. I haven't heard from them yet. I think one of the reasons why is from the transfer from CPC- Vegreville to CPC-Mississauga. So, I think we have to wait, if they want additional documents from you they will send you a letter or an email.

Goodluck!

I guess the real question would be if you filed an Inland application or an Outland application. Depending on which one someone can better answer your question.

If Inland, you can expect to hear from them in roughly a month or two and they'll let you know they received your application. Of course this presupposes they are on the ball, some folks never do get that AOR. Then you can expect to hear from them again in roughly 10 months (give or take a month or so) and they'll let you know if the sponsorship is approved or not. Of course, this presupposes the application is complete.

If Outland, you can expect an AOR in a couple of weeks, usually. You will then get your Sponsorship approval in roughly 30 days after which your file will be sent off to whichever VO you chose. You may or may not hear from them at all depending if they want more documents from you or something. A lot of folks never hear a word until it's time for Visa stamping, or in the case of visa exempt passport holders, they hear something when that COPR shows up in the mailbox.

Good luck whichever way you chose!
