hi SidhuBTI, Sorry, you are right! I did also fill out the form you posted above and sent that along with my application. So truth me told, I'm not sure if CIC actually requested a record on my behalf, or if they just accepted the one I sent with my app. It's really weird that the CIC website...

I'm a bit confused about the advice being offered here. The NZ criminal history record comes from the Ministry of Justice. You simply have to fill out this form: http://www.justice.govt.nz/services/criminal-records/forms/request-by-individual.pdf and send it in. I'm not sure what SidhuBTI means...

Watching the spread sheet lately, has anyone else noticed that many of the applications that are in the "final" stages of processing are getting additional forms/docs/proofs requested. It doesn't seem like this was happening a few months ago judging by the spreadsheet. Is CIC cracking down on...

Bringing a dog to Canada on plane

Thanks so much for the detailed response -- though your first experience is my worst nightmare haha. I've looked into getting a harness for my cat... I"m not sure how he would react (probably not well!), but it might be the best option.

Bringing a dog to Canada on plane

Avadava, Can you tell me about your experience bringing your cat through airport security? I'll be flying with my cat from Boston to Seattle (no direct flights to Vancouver, thought this would be easier), and I'm expecting a full-blown furry freakout as he's semi-feral and not a good traveler...

I guess CIC wont take a Facebook relationship status as official relationship documentation, haha only joking Makes sense having an official document of relationship for common law couples, just wish it was a bit more clear in the guide requiring IMM 5409. Oh well, will get this sorted out asap

We just got PPR!!!! They also request IMM 5409 again, which is weird as I'm positive we filled it out correctly with the application -- any one else get this? *Just realized we actually DIDN'T do it! -- but it's becuase on the Document Checklist, it says you only need 5409 if you have a...

    Sending info after Approval

Thanks Alurra! So basically, once we get our COPR we don't need to worry about sending any more info? Even if we stay in Australia more than 6 months - once we're approved, we're approved?

    Sending info after Approval

Hey guys, I have a question that hopefully someone can answer/has experience with. We applied back in January (I'm American, he's Canadian) when we were living in New Zealand. We are now in Australia and plan on traveling for a few months while we wait for approval. We expect - fingers crossed...

How do you Americans like Canada? :P

They are few and far between! Flutie probably being the most well-known, and he last played almost 10 years ago. Anyway, I was being a bit frivolous.... I love Canada (and all it's sports)!

How do you Americans like Canada? :P

I haven't landed in Canada yet, but so far this is what I can tell --- America pros: NFL (I know there's football in Canada, but it doesn't even compare) Canada pros: healthcare, Molson I thought Canadian supermarket prices were pretty comparable to American, though I've been living in NZ...

    GIVEN NAME

Hi! Your given name is your FIRST name (and MIDDLE name, if you have one). So for example if your name is Bob Joe Smith, then Bob Joe would be your given names (your middle name is included here). Smith is your last name, also called surname. If you're trying to fill out IMM0008, there's a...

Likelihood of Approval (xpost from General)

Hi elizash, The key to your application will be showing CIC that you are presently unable to either live together (and therefore qualify for common-law) or marry (and qualify for spousal sponsorship). This will be the most difficult thing for you two --proving that you are in fact unable to...
