Hi guys, I received my CELPIP score today (L5H, R5L, W4H, S4L), and now is preparing the required documents. I have been a Postdoc in Canada for two years and have two T4. My major is math, but now is working in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Can anyone help to determine what is my NOC code? Really appreciate your help!

If you are not sure about your NOC email you duties to HRSDC and they might help you with selecting your NOC.
Here is email address: noc-cnp@workingincanada.gc.ca

It's likely to be one of these four, read the job duties to see the best fit -

2133 Electrical and electronics engineers

2147 Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers)

2161 Mathematicians, statisticians and actuaries

4161 Natural and applied science policy researchers, consultants and program officers

Thanks buddy for your nice reply. Yes, mathematician is with the code 2161, but I also see the code 4011 is for Postdoc Fellow. So which code should I choose?

Thanks again!

Read the job duties and responsibilities very carefully. Your degree does not matter so much, your job title does not matter so much.

If you read the job duties for 4011, most of them are related to teaching. If teaching is not your primary role, then do not use 4011.

Do not use 2161 just because that's what your degree is in - the correct NOC is the one that corresponds best with your job duties and responsibilities.
