Any word on this or we are just waiting on this hopelessly? Sitting at 464 points and have been maxed out since march. Not willing to spend money on pnp or lmia as I find it very unnecessary for a Canadian university graduate with Canadian experience and 9 band ielts.

You have to do what you have to do to increase your points. Right now Int students are screwed, as I was last year too. You can complain and wait for something to happen or actually do something about it. That's your choice. Life is not always rainbows and sunshine and certainly isn't fair (at least the express entry is not)

I get that. But the new government has been saying the same thing about international students since they came in power. Wouldn't it be amazing if they started to give out specifics rather than repeating the same thing about how they are going to bring changes this fall.

Either you're incredibly optimistic, or you don't know much about politicians.

I dont think it has anything to do with being optimistic or not. I am just taking the politicians word for it. If they say they can bring over 25k refugees overnight and they did exactly that I don't think they will back out from what they said about international students. If we can't trust the people we elected in power then who else are we going to trust? It is just a matter of time and hopefully some specific details about what exactly they plan on doing.

Don't take me wrong, but until you're Canadian citizen, you did not elect them.

They took 25k of refugees first because of humanitarian purposes, second because before the elections they promised to provide more jobs for the social sector workers - and now they are accomplishing the promises.

Concerning international students... Well, they are really good source of immigrants, but looks like at the moment the government is focusing on the budget.

They have already admitted more than 300K in 2015 and the target was 280K. And they are exceeding the quota for 2016 at the moment.

So the change is likely to come, but not this autumn or probably even not this year.

thats what you get for believing in rumors

and isn't only Ontario charge money for PNP? go to other province

Employers are now demanding 5k or even more for supporting you for pnp and lmia. They are very well aware of the situation the government has created for international student where even a master's student have to struggle to go beyond 480 points unless they have pnp or lmia. The employers (at least in Ontario) are taking advantage of this situation and demanding "fees" to help you with pr. I don't have that kind of money. My employer isn't willing to make an effort for providing those documents either. So basically it's been a long and frustrating waiting game for me. Money really does wonders. Sigh!

Don't lose heart. I know it's kinda frustrating. I'm hoping some news in November, coz that's when most of the big CIC announcements are usually made. Plus John McCallum said that the changes are 'definitely' coming in Fall, so there's that too.

Straight up illegal activity here

The waiting is really long but we need to have patience. While waiting for the changes, I highly recommend that we should look for other pnp options. The changes will happen...someday...someday for sure T.T

I think all provinces charge an application fee. It's just that Ontario's is way more expensive than other provinces'.

Definitely illegal - there is no fee for an employer to apply for an LMIA that is for PR purposes only! Our whole PR process including CELPIP, police certificates and processing fees came to less than $5k - and that was for 4 people!
