Seems like we will be getting our PR soon. I hav got medical booked for 24th april. I was wondering what is the landing process and where i can get it done.
I am getting marry in october. Do i have to complete landing and then apply for my spouse. I want to apply for him after i get my Permanant residence.
I am going oversea for wedding. I was thinking to land when i would b cmng back to canada in november.
But as i will get my marriage certificate in october. Can i apply for my spouse before landing in canada. Or i can only do that after i land.

It makes more sense to do the Landing before you leave bcoz then you will have a permanent social insurance number
Your pr card takes two months to arrive in mail after landing
And once you get married you can complete all the application details right there
Rest is your decision

Do i have to cross us border or i can land at any immigration office. The problem is i had a non conviction on my record, for which i have applied to destroy my fingerprint from system. If if go to us border for landing, do they take fingerprints. Is that could b problem

Shouldn't be a problem
Neither us border not Canadian customs will finger print you
Question for you
U said u got fingerprinted but not convicted
So did you order a copy of your legal document of court record
If not order that showing the charges were WITHDRAWN and take that with you while doing your landings
In case Canadian immigration ask you at the customs why were you fingerprinted and you tell them u were not convicted
They will ask you to prove it and that's the key document ag that point
However chances are this issue will not arise

If you simply say "flagpole", no fingerprint will be taken, they will simply give you administrative refusal paper and will send you back to Canada.

Good luck.

I second bigbee on this
U will b just fine gill
Good luck

On my rcmp it says stay of proceeding of that case. No conviction. I got my medical and rprf. My ecase is in process. So there was no problem with canadian immigration at all.

Take the document of court record with you to be on safe end

If you want your spouse included on your application you have to add him before you land.
Otherwise you will need to sponsor him and that is a 12-18 month wait - look into the sponsorship pages for more information on how this works.

So this could be the whole situation. I got my COPR by august. I will go to my country without landing, get marry. I will come back after two month. What would b the process or what is a best advice in my case.
Can i leave canada without landing ( i have valid work permit and multiple entry visa till 2015)

Write to cic - you can email
Tell them of intention to marry and you'd like to know what forms are needed.
You'll need to include your marriage certificate for sure

You can leave without landing but I'm not sure if you can choose to enter without landing
Keep in mind that your COPR will have an expiry - usually it's around 1 yr after medical

If your charge is withdrawn and u have mentioned it to cic..it wouldnt be a problem at all. The us boarder won't challenge you this issue because you just flag pole and not entering to the us..I have the same situation as you do...charge withdrawn and landed through rainbow bridge on April 10 this year..
But I will highly recommend you to land at once. once u become a pr..The counting for citizenship start. Dun waste your time even if just a few months. The sooner u land the sooner you have you citizenship.
