Hi there,

You have to do some research regarding this. You have two good sources for doing that:

www.craigslist.ca

www.kijiji.ca

Select your area and check the advertisements. You will find a variety of rates. All depending upon the factors mentioned below. Should be between $250.00 - $400.00

Good luck!

is malvern a safe place to live? i found this great big house, with big rooms, but its in malvern, i dont know the safety of this place.

also, the landlord is asking for security deposit, i think security deposit is illegal, right? or no?

Will you be coming here as an international student? If yes, then you have to keep a close eye on your finances. You don't want to be living in a big room. It won't matter. Also, if it's a big room, it will definitely cost you more. So look for a mid-size room that you can afford well.

About the place, you should always check how far it is from your school. The near, the better. You also wanna check for bus routes that will take you to school regularly. Yes, many landlords demand a security deposit which they will return when you will be leaving the room. It's always refundable - unless you were involved in some property damage.

Regards,

its just $450 with everything included, since its a big room , maybe i can find 1 more person to live with me, rent/2 .

i also checked the bus routes, 5 mins bus + 5 mins walk.. or 10 mins on bicycle. or 15-20 mins walk.
