I got my PCC from Passport Seva Kendra, Bangalore. To me, both "Immigration Purposes Other than Citizenship" and "Residence Permit" are okay. I chose "Immigration Purposes Other than Citizenship" when filling up and paying online. But at the PSK, the lady at counter A said that for Canada PR, choose "Residence Permit". She changed it herself in the system. And the letter I received specifically mentions clearance for CANADA. So choose one of these.
Hi RISHIFERRARI20,
We're you applying for Canada PR through express entry? If so, was your application processed successfully. The reason I am asking is I got my PCC under "Residence permit" category and there is confusion between the 2 options across different forums

Both the options should work without any concern. Good Luck!!

Yes, I applied under FSW through Express Entry and got my PR. Choosing "Residence Permit" is correct.

When filling the application form online for Police Clearance Certificate using Indian Passport website, there's a dropdown which asks,

"Purpose for which PCC is required"

The options are,
1) Citizenship/Nationality application
2) Education/Research
3) Employment Visa/Work Permit
4) Immigration Purposes Other than Citizenship
5) Long term Visa/Stay
6) Residence Permit
7) Tourist Visa

Which one to select for purpose of Canada PR?

Hi Applying from Atlanta Indian embassy, option selected is residence permit. Should i change it as i read somewhere that only inbound (people already in canada) should select that option?

Thanks

I have applied for PCC from within Canada through BLC. And I selected "immigration purpose other than citizenship " . Should I apply again?
Also my wife is going to apply for PCC from India. What option should she choose? Should our both PCC have same wordings?
