What to do when I lose my passport during PRTD application

So I applied for PRTD online and they sent me an email stating I need to give my passport to nearest VAC office. However I have lost my passport and will be making a new one. So what should I do in this situation. Is it possible to change my passport in current application? Or can I make another application even tho I already started one?

Just submit the new passport together with a brief letter explaining the lost passport.

There is usually a 30 day deadline to submit documents. if you will get the new passport in over 30 days, request for an extension explaining the lost passport
