Hey

I am a Canadian Citizen, born and raised and I am married to Chinese Citizen, and we currently reside in China as I am employed by a Canadian Company to manage our operations here. We have been to Canada twice in the last 18 months using TRV's for my wife on those two 1 month trips. So with no immediate plans for us to move to Canada, but it definetly being something we want to do in the future is it worth while starting the PR process now. From my understadning if we have no immediate plans to move home we thus can't satisy the requirement of showing our plans to relocate to Canada and therefore would not qualify. First, is that correct? And if so, do we have any other options besides multiple entry TRV's if we continue to plan to visit Canada every 6 months or so?

Cheers

If you have no intention to move to Canada once PR is granted then there is no point applying. You don't qualify. You MUST satisfy CIC that you have made reasonable plans to re-establish yourself in Canada once PR is granted. Why would you think they would give PR status to someone who has no plans to move to Canada???

Agreed, if you want to apply for your wifes PR from outside Canada, you need to show that you have plans to move to Canada when she gets her PR.
