Hi,

I have received the following email.

July 19, 2018

Dear Applicant:

I am pleased to advise you that the processing of your application for permanent residence will be finalized at an interview that has been scheduled for:

DATE: Friday, July 27, 2018 TIME: 8:30 AM Location: 417 Exeter Rd., London, ON N6E 2Z3

In order to grant you permanent residence, you must provide us with satisfactory original identity documents. All applicants must provide their original valid passport at the landing interview.

You must attend the interview with the following:
  • Your own interpreter, if required
  • All of your in Canada dependants that are included on this application
· Your sponsor if you are being landed under the In-Canada Spousal Class. Sponsor must bring photo ID

· If you were sponsored as a spouse, please ensure that you bring with you your original marriage certificate that was submitted at time of your application for permanent residence.

· Proof of income for yourself and your sponsor/spouse. Proof includes recent paystubs, employment letter.

  • If currently receiving Social Assistance, provide proof of financial benefits
  • All Immigration documents, current and expired that are in your possession
  • Two (2) photos for each person on this application taken within the last six (6) months (not sponsors) - see enclosed appendix for specifications (only for clients who are becoming Permanent Residents).
  • Proof you have paid the Right of Permanent Residence Fee ($490) (if applicable) *For each adult *.
· If you have not yet paid this fee, you must do so on-line at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp. Payment will not be accepted at local office on the day of your appointment. You must make this payment a minimum of 3 business days before your scheduled interview.

· Bring the original payment receipt(s) with you to the interview. Your appointment will be re-scheduled if the payment is not received in time.

What documents do we need to bring for the proof of income as both me (applicant) and my wife(sponsor) are self employed. I assume that we can bring a bank statement. Is there a minimum amount that we need to have in our accounts to finalize the PR application ?

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Regards

Hi

The bank statement should be fine. There is no minimum income requirement.

Thank you for the reply. Is it safe to assume that the invitation that I got was for landing and is not an interview as per say or should I be prepared for something else ?

Sorry the ambiguity of CIC correspondence has be second guessing myself lol.

This is a landing interview, but you really have nothing to worry. It's not an interview to check your relationship or anything. That will be a 10-15 minutes maximum process in which you will review the CoPR document, answer few questions: do you have any dependants that are not listed already, did you ever committed a crime and to the sponsor, they sometime ask if he/she is still willing to sponsor. Really no stress to have. It's almost like going to renew a driver's licence.

Thank you for your reply. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief and go to bed in peace looking forward to the happy conclusion to this chapter in the morning.

Hello. I am going to land in London on the 26th of this month. Did they ask you for proof of income? I just received my letter yesterday. Just wondering. I want to be sure i bring everything they might need.
