What tests are run by panel physicians?

We received an ITA 2 weeks ago and are going for the doctors test next week, but had a question.

What all tests are run by the physicians for immigration purposes. My spouse is mildly hypo-thyroid, he has been taking medication and it probably will not show up on the test (since he is taking medication results are usually lab normal range).

Do the doctors test thyroid? And do they ask you before hand about any pre-existing or known medical conditions you have? We are not sure if he should mention his thyroid condition?

I gave my medical examination yesterday. I was asked to bring medical history, if any, with me for the tests. Bringing medical history is compulsory.

They took X-Rays, Blood Sample, Urine Sample and measured my Visual Acuity, Weight, Height and Blood Pressure

And was asked questions whether I have any symptoms or signs of Asthma or TB or Syphilis or AIDS and the doctor checked my skin (probably for rashes of any kind) and did that stethoscope thing on my chest and back.

I suppose, hypothyroid, if any, would be identified through blood tests. Anyway, like your entire EE profile, you should disclose your spouse's hypothyroid to the panel doctor, I don't think having mild hypothyroidism is medically inadmissible.

The express entry webpage also suggests that the doctor will fill out medical history by asking you. Am I supposed to be carrying some sort of proof of previous testing etc?

I guess I am worried if they will refer us to further testing and slow or stop our post ITA process

No, you don't need to carry any medical history or documentation.

Hypothyroidism is pretty inexpensive to treat so I really wouldn’t worry. As always people should be honest with their medical history and what medication they are taking.

I was asked by the hospital to bring any medical history and had seen people who had come for testing, come with medical history. I hope it shouldn't matter, but you can do whatever your ME says.

It does happen that people are asked for further testing.

But the point for medical exams is especially for IRCC to gauge if candidates have a medical condition that, should a candidate be admitted, will place undue burden on the resources of the country per individual.

If it’s a manageable condition, you might only need to prove that it is [manageable]. For your reference, my fiançée has anemia and she had to get a five-year prognosis before the clinic could forward her MedEx results to IRCC.

I was required to go for further testing (heart murmur). Appointment for that is coming up soon. From what I was reading it doesn't stop your post ITA process; it happens concurrently. Though you will not be approved for PR until your medicals are cleared.

Good luck to you, I am still very nervous about our test this coming week.

Yes, that exactly.

That though was for the clinic to proceed forwarding her results to IRCC. We have yet to confirm whether IRCC officers will require further tests.

No idea if we can take longer. We just wanted to get it done ASAP.
