hi everybody ,
i didnt land yet but after reading regarding the citizenship i have some clarifications :
1) what is the fastest place that we apply for citizenship and get it in shorter time , as i know that toronto people are facing big delays due to croud and big number of applicatns.

2) when u apply for citizenship, and they inform u that file is under process , what are they checking exactly , is it only the period u phisically stayed in canada and ur records in canada from the date of landing ? or before landing ? or any other information.... pls advice .

3) is this book very difficult ? what happen if u fail in the test , they will retest u or u will not be elligible for citizinship ? ...

thanks

You will have apply after spending 2 years in any place of Canada your records while staying in canada is also checked your back records should be decent means not been reliable all the time , if you fail they will give chance you again

We are applying end of the year after moving to canada 3 years ago, I have heard horror stories from Mississauga and long delay stories from toronto, we are seriously willing to move this summer to because we Need a new travel document more than anything due to the political unrest in my country..... WHAT places are faster advice is much appreciated... we currently live in Mississauga and it seems everyone is treated as a suspect until proven innocent here, i have lots of friends who are fully settled and legal who were slapped with the dreaded RQ.....

Mississauga is the fastest office right now (unless you receive the dreaded RQ). RQ cases take a LONG time no matter which local office handles your case. Try to minimize the chance of getting an RQ, wait until you are well over the required 1095 days of physical presence.

You may want to check out the following forum. There are some very active and detailed discussions there about the citizenship application process.

http://www.immigration.ca/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=3&SID=2d523f333d8684741d6f3cd3845c5129&title=canadian-citizenship

If you fail the test. You will go face a judge who will ask you question and basically determine if your english nd french are good enough. If so, they will schedule you for the oath ceremony. But there is not Retest option. But there is no way you fail the test if you prepare for it. It's so simple if you read the 30pages book .. And do tests online to practice.

Myself in 3 days i'll be passing my test. I'm ready after a long 2 weeks of testing myself (1h a day). I do recommend this web site for everyone

Mississauga office has gotten faster but they are notorious for giving the RQ, that is the main reason i am thinking about moving out of Mississauga, I have a friend who spent 5 years here, bought a house, kids in school, managed a business and the Mississauga office slapped him with the RQ, its been 2 years for him.... I seriously don't want to apply here and get stuck, even though i have nothing to hide... :(

Hi, RQ is residency questionnaire, people who get that are delayed 2-3 years, you have to present them with proof of every day you spent in canada and its up to the judge to decide at the end....
