Hi everyone. So, I was looking at document 3911 -it's a country-specific guide on the cic website.
On page A3, at point 4, it says:
"Note: All prospective immigrants must hold a valid regular passport. Diplomatic, official or public affairs passports are not valid for an application for permanent residence in Canada. Notarization and translation of passports is not necessary."
My husband is a Turkish doctor, and holds this 'special' passport. All it is, really, is a green (instead of red) Turkish passport that allows him to travel visa-free to countries where ordinary Turkish citizens need an entry visa. He got this because he is a doctor that has been working at a government hospital, for a certain number of years.
Do you think his passport is valid for use with his application for permanent residency in Canada?
