Spouses being sponsored to Canada are exempt from the "strain on healthcare" clause so the only thing that would get him denied would be something dangerous and highly contagious which could cause a danger to your fellow Canadians.
Please help....

My husband sponsoring me...and i had my physical examination at st. luke's yesterday, and they gave me the copy 2 imm 1017.  During the physical examination i had informed the attending physician that i have had this mandibular mass long time ago and i had seen two different surgeon and the findings is benign but of course if i wanted it to be removed this mass i need to undergo with the usual procedure of testing....but which i don't want....but since i have it long time ago and don't feel anything or physical deterioration...i just leave it as it.

Apparently, this morning i received a call from st. luke's and they are asking me for an update check up for said mandibular mass.  do you think this will cause inadmissible to Canada?

i already sent the original copy 2 imm 1017 to my husband, yesterday.

No, it will not cause a denial because as a spouse, you are exempt from conditions that could be expensive on healthcare and it's very unlikely that a mass you have which is not contagious in any way could be seen to cause a danger to Canadians. You may however have to provide a new report for testing on this mass or at least send in the old report from the doctor who tested it before if he still has the records.

What exactly do they test for? I had blood drawn presumably for HIV and elevated white cell counts, a blood pressure check, an gyn exam, and a chest xray which I assume was for TB and possibly lung cancer. That was it. Four hours of waiting an less than 10 mins with the DMP.

Thanks, Leon.

Actually when I showed up this morning at st luke's hosp i already had with me the old findings both from two different surgeon. they (st luke's surgeon) did not ask me for an additional check up or testing, after a few questions and checking the st luke's surgeon just hand over my folder to the staff, and the staff told me, it is already okay.

my question now, are they usually giving you the copy 2 or imm 1017 even if you are positive for any contagious disease, or they just put it on hold until such time everything is cleared?

Regards

If you had a medical condition (especially if it was something contagious), they would've told you. They are obligated to do so. So if they haven't said anything, you'd just fine.
If such a thing was found, I would imagine they would ask you to come back at a later date to get checked again and only after you were healthy would they send the results of the medical on. At least, that's my guess.

thanks mitamata and leon,

you are really a great help in enlightening us.

The copy 2 or imm1017 already sent to my husband to give it to our representative. The representative helping us in handling the processing of the documents in Canada.

How long it would take to know if there were be an additional requirement for medical, is it after our representative submits all documents to CIC? And how many months usually they got the result from St. lukes?

Hi All,

Can someone help me to answer my worries about my medical result. I am a sponsored spouse via Provincial Nominee. I have chronic hepatitis B as per final report from gastro. IRRC requested that since they receive report from my initial report submitted by the doctor. In their furtherance test required by IRRC now the result is chronic hepa b and need medication only to prevent future liver diesease.

My worry is will my application to obtajn Permanent Residence refuse with my case?

Is chronic hepa b is categorized as "Danger to Public Health/Safety"?

Please can someone help me

Hi

You can't be a sponsored spouse via PNP. Either you are being sponsored by a Canadian citizen/PR spouse or you are included as a dependent in your spouse's PNP app. If it is a PNP app, you need to post in the PNP or EE section of the forum.
