sir k, pls where did you apply from? what is the implication of applying through uk if i am not resident there? anyone applying from ghana under the new law and medical already being requested for?

i am seriously thinking of reapplying under the new law through ghana or uk. tired of waiting

You can't really apply through the UK if you are not a UK resident. The rule(R11) says that for those applying from a country other than the country of their nationality, they need to have been legally admitted to that country for a period of not less than a year. In otherwords, if you haven't been granted permission to reside in the UK for upto a year, then you can not have your case processed thru the London Visa office. London Visa office is not best suited to be doing checks on 9ja applicant living in 9ja, when Accra is the office responsible for doing such.

You can apply if you want, but it will most likely get bounced to Accra Visa office - i don't know why you want London Visa office anyways, Accra is quicker than London under the new C-50 applications. They are doing very well on the new cases. I know because i have experienced it, and witnessed that of friends too. You may reapply thru Accra provided you are on list of 38, and later decide which application to withdraw as the new case progresses, chances are that new one will be faster. There is a very detailed bulletin on this on the CiC website. You may refer to it if you need more info on it.

I have used DHL to send all my documents, fedex is also good - i think they've an arrangement with redstar, my sis in law uses fedex for all her runs. Your 120day letter should have a po box address for accra on it. I however opted for the physical address -

High commission of Canada, 42 independence avenue, accra ghana.

This is for me to have confirmation of delivery, and initials of embassy staff who has signed for my package. There'd be no one to hold if story come shele with po box.
