After over a year, I finally received my AOR (with a non-XEP number; I confirmed my XEP over the phone in March 2020) by e-mail in February 2021. I then received requests to give my biometrics and do a medical exam in early March, and I completed those steps as soon as the relevant offices reopened. I also received a pre-arrival services letter along with those requests.
As soon as I received my AOR, I connected my paper application to the online services network. This entire time, my review of eligibility and background check have remained incomplete and my estimation date is in March 2022. Does it normally happen that the medical, biometrics, and pre-arrival communications arrive before the review and background check finish? Are the steps out of order due to COVID?
Secondarily, what is the interview for? I am single and not sponsoring or being sponsored by anyone. Do I need an interview?
