What is the time frame on a visa?

My medical expires in February 21, 2013 and visa office is sending me request to sent my passport so they can stamp my Canadian visa for permanent residency; the deadline for the visa office is february 15, 2013 and it takes them 3-4 weeks to process, in this case are they going to ask for another medical or they are going to give me a year visa or a two weeks visa...can anyone here help me with this matter. I used to think that visa time frame depends on the medical and now I am confused!

Can anyone with the past experience like this help me out? I really need to know!!!

1. There 2 possibilities Your visa will only be valid to 21/02/13 or the VO has requested that the medical be extended an additional year: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp
