There is no points system for CEC but if you are talking about IELTS, you can see the score table here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609E2.asp

or here:

NOC CLB Level Test result for each ability
Speaking Listening Reading Writing
0, A 8 6.5 7.5 6.5 6.5
0, A 7 6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0
0, A, B 6 5.5 5.5 5.0 5.5
B 5 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0
B 4 4.0 4.5 3.5 4.0

For an 0 or A skill occupation, you either need all your scores at CLB Level 7 or higher. It is ok if you have one score at CLB level 6 if you have another score at level 8.

For a B skill occupation, you either need all your scores at CLB Level 5 or higher. It is ok if you have one score at CLB level 4 if you have another score at level 6.

Thank you for the info.. But i have no idea what category i am

Im working at fastfood. Ive been for here in canada for 4yrs.

Please help me...

If you are a manager or shift manager and this is reflected in your work permit, then you are skilled. If you are a regular employee, you are not considered skilled and can not apply under CEC.

If you are in BC or AB, it might be possible for your employer to sponsor you under PNP.

Thank you Leon...

I have a friend asking for help too..
She tooked ielts exam already and her score
L-4.5 R-4.5 W-4.5 S-4.0 total=4.5 is she qualify for
CEC?.? Do you think the officer will approve her
Application.

Her WP is skilled supervisor

I can not find a NOC code for skilled supervisor.

If her NOC code starts with 0, she is skill type 0. If it doesn't start with 0 but the 2nd digit is 1, then she is A skilled. If that is the case, her IELTS scores are way too low. She would need total 6.0 or higher. Look at the table I already posted. Her CLB level would have to be at 7. If one score is at level 6, that is ok if one or more are at level 8.

If the NOC code does not start with 0 and the 2nd digit is 2 or 3, she is B skilled. In that case her IELTS is still not good enough. Her total would have to be at 5, CLB level 5. If one score is at level 4, it would also be ok if another score is at level 6 or higher.

Thank you Leon! I saw it already NOC skilled B 621 on sales and service occupation.
God Bless!

Hi,

My Job title fall under Skill A, 2121: Food Research Scientist, however my job duties fall under Skill B, 2211: Food Technologist

I am applying for CEC category,

I have my IELTS score
Overall 6.5

Individual:
Listening: 7.5
Writing: 5.5
Reading: 6.5
Speaking: 6.5

Do I qualify or I need to repeat IELTS.
What do the immigration officers see, job title ot duties...

Please let me know

Looking at the table:

Listening 7.5 = CLB Level 8
Writing 5.5 = CLB Level 6
Reading 6.5 = CLB Level 8
Speaking 6.5 = CLB Level 8

You are allowed to have 1 skill at CLB Level 6 if you have another at CLB Level 8 and the remaining 2 at 7 or higher and so you qualify for both skill level A and B with this IELTS.

As for which category to apply under, if your work permit has 2121 on it, you should apply under that but if you have an open work permit, you should pick the duties rather than the job title.
