If we knew what is the total number of candidates in the pool we could have done some calculations. Is there any official number or we have only assumptions? The EE spreadsheet which people have filled until now seems really useless since it does not represent what has really happened. Less than 100 people where with more than 735+ points but as we know until now CIC has selected more than 3500 of them .

It's been discussed several times, nobody knows for sure. Some people theorize that candidate numbers reflect the number of people in the pool; the last time somebody posted their number (beginning of February, I think), it was 60k+. There was also a news article which claimed there were 10k people in the pool on January, 31, and 3k of them were eligible. I personally don't believe that number - it is too low, and they didn't cite the source for this information. To the best of my knowledge, CIC hasn't released any statistics to date, even though it appears they planned to do so. As for the spreadsheet, one possibility is that people with lower human capital scores are underrepresented.

There is no good reason why cic wont disclose this information either, it would not harm their new system and would be enourmously helpful to candidates. Disgraceful organization

They have always been like that, though, haven't they? The cap numbers were always a joke in previous years' FSW programs. It was also posted somewhere around here how took CIC 2 months to finally notify CEC applicants that cap has been reached last year.

Do you include points for Canadian work experience? Max points for that are 80.
