Hi all,
After AOR, I submitted my documents on May 18. I passed medical on May 20. After that my application has been stuck on "Review in Progress" status. I was wondering how long did you had to wait in this status. I am applying from outside Canada.

Mine is now : 2.5 months. (Should I be worried?)

seeing as they are aiming to complete applications in 6 months, only worry once it goes over 6 months. in the meantime, no news is good news.

CIC came out with some numbers ,

I did some number crunching !
let see this is before July ,

Application Received : 7,528
Applications in Progress : 5,835

that leave a staggering : 77.5 % of application before july still needs to be processed

That makes a Total :-

application processed : 1693
approved applications : 655

meaning 61 % of the applications where rejected !!

that is in 6 months just 8% of the total received applications were approved !!

which amounts to just over a 100 application approval per month for last 6 months!!

Based on these numbers,
I am thinking most of us might need to wait the whole 6 months before we hear anything at best !

You might want to factor in a percentage of ITAs which lapsed and/or were withdrawn because applicants couldn't collect supporting evidence and apply within 60 days. Might not be a 92% rejection rate after all.

No no I dont mean 92% is the rejection rate , as I mentioned 77.5 % of application are still in process !!

but the rejection rate ( which might include lapsed ITA) in already processed applications (100%-77.5%= 22.5%) is 61% !!

8% is the actual number for application which have seen a positive outcome in last 6 months!

I know all the number can confusing ,
but on average only around 100 applications have been approved per month !

So there is a whole bunch of applications which are still in wait list , the processing of them will be slow.
